The Decline of Western Civilization Part II: The Metal Years (12:30am, Sundance Channel) Man, Sundance is on some sort of roll showing these films that aren't available on dvd. This one goes for $40-$50 on Ebay but evidently it's coming to dvd soon. And just look how cheezy and ridiculous Gene Simmons and Paul Stanley act and look... I am embarassed to admit that I saw them live entirely too many times in the 80's. SANS MAKEUP. And how could I not notice that obvious wig on Gene's head? Oh, you also get Alice Cooper, Lizzy Borden, Poison, Aerosmith, Ozzy Osbourne, Vixen, Motorhead, Megadeth and more!
Lipstick & Dynamite, Piss & Vinegar: The First Ladies of Wrestling (6:40am, Starz Cinema) I missed this one at the Maryland Film Festival and it's played at quite a few fests in the U.S. and Canada. I understand that a lot of these old ladies cuss and tell you how it was during the glory days of wrestling. One grandma hid a spoon in her bra so she could gouge out the eyes of opponents. Crazy shit like that. I am not waking up at 6.40 to watch this but I will certainly have a fine cup of Joe in one hand and my Tivo remote in the other checking this doc out!
Head-On (12:00am, Sundance Channel) Cahit, an aging German punk-rocker meets Sibel, a smoking-hot sucidal chick at the mental hospital, she needs a husband to pacify her parents, so they get married. They have sex, just not with each other. Lots of drinking. Crazy drinking. Hands-down the best use of a Sisters of Mercy song in a film. Plus, after the film was released Sibell Kekilli was outed as a former porn star who starred in such hits as "The Mega-Horny Chicken Farm."
Pink Flamingos (2:30am, Sundance Channel) I'm not easily shocked. When I saw Chloe Sevigny in "The Brown Bunny" going down on Vincent Gallo I knew it was a stunt cock... who ever holds their weiner that weird stiff-fisted way for a through-the-zipper hummer. When he wasn't strangling the sausage Chloe would exert her death grip on it. Anyhoo... I Tivo'd Pink Flamingos the other night, waited a few days and then scanned through it over morning coffee. And yes, he who is not easily shocked was shocked to see that Sundance didn't blur the Divine-on-Crackers blowjob scene! Has a non-porn pay movie channel ever shown an actual dick in another dude's mouth? Is this a cable tv first? Is this history? Plus, at the beginning they cram SIX warnings on the "Viewer Discretion Advised" screen:
